KIDS MTB CLOTHING REVIEW: No Ordinary Kids MTB Threads...

You can’t argue with DHaRCO’s motto, “No Ordinary Life” formed from a belief that Mountain Biking creates an amazing lifestyle. My son, Stan (@super_stan_mtb) and I LOVE riding together. The Father and Son bond that our love of MTB has forged between us is priceless, so whilst this may not be the cheapest hobby we could enjoy together, I’m always happy to invest in good kit for Stan’s evolving needs.

Kids specific MTB clothing has come such a long way, even in the short time since Stan started riding 3 years ago. Big brands now cater for the youngest shredders, and DHaRCO is no exception to that. Their youth range caters for 4-12 year olds across 5 sizes and includes Long sleeve and 3/4 sleeve “Party” jerseys, and GravityShorts. Nothing out of the “Ordinary” there you might think, but where DHaRCO takes it to the next level is the awesome colours and prints they use…

Taking inspiration from Australian Surf Culture and the beaches of Sydney, bold and adventurous patterns mixed with relaxed casual fit makes for really cool bike clothing. Stan’s Diversion jersey features an amazing Tropical Leaf print design, set against Dark Teal raglan style sleeves, with large DHaRCO logos to the chest, sleeves and neck to ensure everyone knows, from every angle there is a mini Kyle Strait on the loose!

Stan is 7 and measures approx 125cm tall. He’s wearing a YM(8) Diversion 3/4 Sleeve Jersey and Gravity Shorts. In truth he would probably fit a YS(6), certainly in the shorts. We have folded the waist band over, and they are fine – on the plus side, he will definitely be able to Party in them through Summer 2021 – not just because of the size/room to grow, but also the superb quality of the clothing.

Both the jersey and shorts are made from quick drying, breathable fabrics. The shorts material is Blue Sign approved with a water resistant finish. Both also have really neat zipped pockets. We really like the 3/4 sleeve and longer leg shorts for that added bit of protection to the knees and elbows should Stan take a tumble and also for just a little more coverage from the sun.

So, its from Australia – expensive then? and then there’s the shipping?!… Not really, a kids jersey and shorts combo will set you back the same sort of money as that of the other quality major MTB brands, and bought as a combo will include FREE global shipping.

It wouldn’t be right to tell you that DHaRCO Youth MTB clothing is technically superior than other brands targeting the kids market. Stan has MTB threads from several brands, all of really good quality. But what we can say with confidence is nobody makes cooler looking kit than these guys! Stan looks and feels the Bees Knees in his DHaRCO kit, and the admiring glances and compliments from other riders just reaffirm that. Feeling good in your own kit is arguably even more important for the Groms, when so many of their MTB adventures present them with a new challenge or level of difficulty, just looking the part can give them the confidence to elevate them over the next hurdle.

DHaRCO Clothing definitely gets a big THUMBS UP from us, I just need to get twinning with Stan now with some Party gear of my own… I’ll probably just end up cramping his style though!
