On Thursday I had my brothers wedding which is be really anxious about since they booked it but in the end it went really well as I said in the previous post.
On Saturday morning I had the launch of my new football mental health kick around project in Doncaster and again that went really well.
I’m grateful for having a friend there with me who helped me run the first session so I wasn’t completely on my own and took some of the pressure off me.
I was anxious about it and I did drain myself mentally and give myself a slight stress headache but after taking sumatriptan and having a little nap I was then ready for my friends wedding night do which we stayed for two hours.
And then to finish off on Sunday I was playing an 11aside competitive game, it was away at a place I’ve never been before, it was busy and quite overwhelming at first.
We badly lost the match and I didn’t score so I was very frustrated with myself but happy to have completed this busy few days.
A over the last few years these events would’ve been massively challenging for me (My brothers wedding still was but I think I was in a much better place on my anxiety journey to cope with it) and I possibly would’ve backed out and not gone at all so to do them all and in such a short space of time and even two in one day was massive for me.
The wedding night do on Saturday evening was important to me as it was a great group of friends and I wanted to make sure I attended so they know I put in the effort and can now do more with them.
I’m glad it was this way around with the events because had my brothers wedding been the last event I probably wouldn’t have risked doing the others incase I made myself bad for the wedding.
I was a little anxious about Monday morning and how my head would feel after the busy few days and I did wake up with a tension headache but luckily it wasn’t too bad.
TotalMTB for me is a great organisation that helps give back to the mountain biking community. Helps bring awareness to something that most people can’t see within a friend or family member. Mental health is something to be mindful about. Health mind, health life.Blake Samson
Mountain biking is vital to my mental health, and I think it's rad how TotalMTB is spreading their message and building a community around this topic. It doesn't matter who you are, everyone is going through something and knowing you're understood and supported goes a long way.Mark Matthews
It gives me great pleasure to support the TotalMTB community. These guys do so much in the global cycling community to help people that need it most in an area most people struggle to talk about. I'll always be backing TotalMTB and anyone who stands alongside them.Ben Moore
