Elliot Brown Watches

I started wearing specific watches for outdoor activities around 3 years ago when I bought a G-Shock Classic which at the time was fashionable and the best option I had found.
Since buying it a few years ago I have noticed some downsides which are that it feels and looks quite plasticky, you sweat a lot under the watch, the colour of dark jackets have rubbed off onto it and it isn’t really a watch you can wear when you want to look smart.

I have had the Elliot Brown’s Bloxworth watch for around a month now and I absolutely love it.
It’s such a great looking watch, very sophisticated and unlike the G-Shock you can wear it anywhere and for any occasion.

You can tell just how much time and effort has gone into perfecting this watch, even the detail on the back of the strap is impressive with you can see and read more about here.

You may not believe this watch is suitable for mountain biking however the watches made by Elliot Brown are specifically designed to experience harsh elements, adventure and extreme sports as they have said themselves:
“Every Elliot Brown is the result of 1000’s of hours spent obsessing over the smallest details; refining, improving, inventing, and testing. These award-winning watches shrug off harsh elements and are relied upon for ocean crossings, mountain rescues, and just about any kind of extreme or arduous adventure.” to read more about the company and it’s philosophy click here.

Obviously I don’t know how the watch will hold out in years to come but if the other comments and reviews I have seen are anything to go by it will still be going strong like Oli Reed said about another model:
“I’ve tried everything I can to destroy the Elliot Brown Canford watch over the past few years – but I can’t do it.”

The watch features anti-reflective coated hardened mineral crystal which makes it extremely tough to scratch or break,  the outer watch case is 316L stainless steel inside which is a steel and elastomer damped shock-absorbing movement holder (which you can see explained in the video to the left). With these features you can be assured that you will probably break a lot sooner than your watch.

They have a massive range of watches and straps and you can easily customise your watch yourself by changing the strap, you can see the big selection of straps here.

With the huge range of straps that you can change yourself and just how well the watches cope with all weathers and activities you really have got a watch for life and for any occasion!

What I love about this company is that even though its a fantastic company producing a big collection of watches they’re still a relatively small team of great down to earth people.
Before I received the watch I wanted to learn more about the watches and company and to my shock it was the co-founder Ian Elliot who answered the phone and was more than happy to talk for over 15 minutes about the company and watches (it’s extremely rare for a co-founder of a company to not only answer the phone but show willingness to chat to you and as he did the passion just shone through).
There was even a personal hand written note from Ian in the box with the watch to give him a ring once the watch arrived so he can talk me through changing the straps, personally I feel that kind of stuff is unheard of now a days!
