Recently I have become the proud owner of some of the most comfortable bib shorts ever made! The Men’s Ignite 2-in-1 bib shorts from Aussie Grit Apparel have exceeded all my expectations and have quickly become my go-to shorts.

Unlike any other mountain bike shorts or bib shorts I’ve ever come across these are baggie bib shorts, not the usual lycra style so they don’t look out of place at the bike park or on the Enduro trails. For me, bib shorts are the way to go for a number of reasons, firstly they are so much more comfortable, you don’t have any waistbands cutting into you or needing adjusting part way through the ride to prevent accidently mooning the rider behind you, no one else have that problem? Ok just me then.

Secondly, they are practical if you aren’t going to carry a bag. They have handy pockets on the back where you can stash snacks, phones, money or whatever else you like. Because the pockets are positioned in your lower back region, the items you store in there don’t get in your way like they would in normal side pockets, making riding more comfortable.

At this point maybe I should mention that I am female. And yes, to reiterate, these are some of the most comfortable shorts I have owned.

My previous experience with men’s shorts has always been that naturally they don’t fit my body shape, so I have to go up a size and they end up looking huge on me. Not only that but men’s chamois shorts have always been uncomfortable as of course they are not designed for a woman’s anatomy either.

So, when I first put the Ignite shorts on, I was pleasantly surprised to look in the mirror and think ‘wow, these fit nice!’ The material is stretchy and so molded to my shape well rather than hanging off my hips, giving the shorts a more fitted appearance. That same material makes the shorts extremely comfortable to wear as they move with you and are not restrictive in any way.

Whether you’re a man or woman, I would recommend giving these shorts a whirl. The comfort is like nothing I’ve ever experienced in a pair of mountain bike shorts and as with all Aussie Grit Apparel products, the quality and styling is on point.
